Emmanuel Episcopal Church (Brook Hill) and Virginia Institute of Pastoral Care will sponsor a book signing for Dr. Donald Denton’s latest book. 'Naming the Pain and Guiding the Care: The Central Tasks of Diagnosis' has received critical acclaim from pre-eminent clinicians and educators in the fields of psychiatry, psychology and pastoral care & counseling.
This is Dr. Denton’s second book related to this field. In the words of Mayo Clinic’s Dr. Renato Alarcon, “Denton’s work advances the field both conceptually and pragmatically.” Dr. Everett Worthington from VCU calls the book “a modern masterpiece". Dr. Orlo C. Strunk of The Journal of Pastoral Care & Counseling identifies this book as a “must read” for anyone engaged in caring for people.
Donald Denton, the Coordinator of Assessments and Publications at Virginia Institute of Pastoral Care, says “anyone who has suffered and wondered ‘what is my purpose now?’ and ‘how do I make sense out of my suffering?’ will find this book valuable.”
